Registration for the First School Competition Now Open!

Are you a schoolteacher of natural or social sciences, English or CLIL, or maybe citizenship and environmental education? Are your students between 10 and 18 years old? Then this school competition is for you!

The Marine SABRES project designed an online serious game that will introduce your classroom to basic concepts of marine biology and coastal ecology and increase your students' awareness of the strong relations between us and the ocean. The first school competition will take place online on World Fisheries Day, Thursday 21 November 2024.

Why participate? Discover with your class science facts about us and the ocean! You will meet teachers and students from across Europe and learn from peers and a European network of researchers.

The emphasis on connecting students with a European network of researchers is an excellent detail that can enrich the learning experience. It’s fascinating how this competition encourages students to explore marine biology while fostering collaboration across different cultures. As someone who integrates interactive elements in my lessons, I see how vital this social context can be for engagement. It reminds me of my planning sessions for projects like those on WizardAlchemy where I aim to create meaningful connections via collaborative learning.

This sounds like such a great way to get students thinking about marine ecology, especially with the CLIL and citizenship angles covered. I’ve been using something similar for my 14-year-olds, and they’re way more engaged when it feels like a game. Check out https://grok-imagine-ai.net

This sounds like such a great way to get students thinking about marine science in a hands-on way. I love that it’s open to so many different subjects, since ocean literacy really does connect to everything. I’ve been using https://seedance-2.dev

This is such a great way to get students thinking about marine biology beyond just the textbook—especially for CLIL teachers looking for interactive content. I’ve been using similar tools for my environmental science classes, so I’m curious to see how this competition handles the 10-18 age range. Check out https://veovideoai.com

This is such a great way to get students thinking about marine ecology beyond just textbook diagrams. I love that it bridges subjects like citizenship and environmental ed, too. I’ve been using something similar for my CLIL classes, and the engagement boost is real. Check out https://image-gpt.net
